...and now in detail
Step 1. 3d model
I´ve recently started every work with a 3d model. Before I start working on the scene, I never set a goal to execute the form according to a clear plan, I do not set strict parameters. I don't always know what I want to see at the end. In the process of sculpting, texture, composition and illumination of the model, the final proportions and shapes are born. The main thing here is to stop, not to overload and not to artificially complicate the form.
Step 2. Render
The second and last stage of pre-works, before I start with canvas, is rendering and postproduction, where success is provided by correct settings, good technical equipment and patience.
Step 3. Outline
Following this, I start sketching out the outlines on canvas. Sometimes I do it with a brush, but in this case, I used a soft pencil. At this stage, I draw not only the contours of the object´s relief, but also the borders of light and shade.
Step 4. Background
Next, in order to set the depth of the picture right away, as well as not to disturb the outlines of objects, I paint the background. There is no secret here, when I´m lucky I choose the right shade and brush immediately, otherwise it can be corrected with an additional layer.
Step 5. Filling. "Metall"
The time has come to move to the relief of the "hearts". I filled in the contours step by step, moving from the right "heart" to the left one. Having conditionally divided each heart into several parts, I filled them with grey colour, to show light and shadow. Even though this layer looks rough and generalized, this stage is decisive for all next steps. Mistakes made now will become visible on the finished painting.
Step 6. Filling. Red
Then, following the logic of the previous stage, I added a red colour. How I paint one of the fragments can be seen below.
Step 7. Let it dry!
The picture went to drying, I returned to other works, the grandson came to take this process under his control)
Step 8. Detailing
When the previous layers have dried up completely, I started the key stage of detailing. It's a delicate and painstaking work, the materials got the desired look, the accents were put on their places, the reflections became bright, the shadows are deep and alive. Again, it is important to stop in time, exhale and sign the work.
Finally, all together.
sorry but you can never have too many "hearts", so look at the cute gif bellow and have a nice day)
